Day by day itinerary

Arrival to Ljubljana International Airport, meet and greet with your private throughout driver guide. Drive to Vila Podvin near Bled, a beautiful inn with Michelin star restaurant leaded by chef Uroš Štefelin. His source of inspiration stems from his own childhood when the family kitchen was full of the aromas of traditional Slovene dishes, when they prepared homemade sausages and enjoyed sweet treats such as dried must-pears. Dinner and overnight.

After breakfast drive to Bled lake. Upon arrival sightseeing of this pearl in the Alps. Take a ride with a wooden »pletna« boat, ring a bell for good luck at St. Mary’s church in the middle of the lake, view over Bled lake from Bled castle terrace and try traditional Bled sweet pastry – the famous »cream cake«.

In the afternoon enjoy a visit to a local beekeeper to see how these tiny, yet powerful creatures work and live. Try honey products such as various sorts of honey, honey sweets etc.

Continue to nearby Radovljica, a charming Medieval town with picturesque houses and a glorious mansion is one of the most beautiful town centres in Slovenia. It is also the capital of Slovenian apiculture, so we visit the Lectar workshop, where you can find out how honeybread hearts are made. Dinner and overnight.

Today visit the valley of Soča river. From Bled we drive further towards Alps and take a scenic drive through Vršič pass to enjoy beautiful views. Stop at Kobarid and visit Kobarid musem of WWI.

In the afternoon take a 2hours hiking tour at Tolmin Gorges, a natural wonder, carved out by two beautiful and fierce rivers.

Proceed drive to Idrija, dinner and overnight at hotel Kendov dvorec. Kendov Dvorec restaurant with chefs Klavdij Pirih and Franci Pivk were awarded with Michelin plate 2020. They prepare dishes using traditional authentic recipes, from fresh ingredients sourced from local producers.

In the morning enter a tourist part of Idrija mercury mine, now also acknowledged by UNESCO.

Then proceed spending the day underground with visit of the famous Postojna Cave and experience a fascinating underworld paradise shaped by tiny droplets over millions of years. Tour consists of train ride and walk accompanied with on site specialized guide. Afterwards drive to nearby Predjama Castle, the largest cave castle in the world.

Finish the day with short ride to the heart of the Karst area. Overnight at small family hotel Krasna House. Hotel restaurant was awarded with Michelin plate 2020. Pure and homemade with a dash of modern is the motto of chef Aleš Širca, who takes the traveller into the tradition and modernity of the Kars

After breakfast drive to Štanjel, a picturesque village of traditional stone-built Kras houses. Proceed to another village Kobjeglava, where visit a boutique family-owned prosciutto drying facility. A visit to prosciutteria is an experience of the story of tradition, the seasoning of prosciutto and the discovery of flavors along with the slice of prosciutto and a glass of excellent teran wine.

Continue with visit Lipica stud farm, the home to one of the world’s most famous breed of horses, the Lippizaner. Take a private sightseeing tour and experience the unique horse carriage ride through the beautiful farm estate.

Then proceed to Slovenian sea coast city of Piran, one of the loveliest towns anywhere along the Adriatic coast. After arrival free time and dinner at local restaurant.

After breakfast explore the town, walk the narrow cobblestone streets, enjoy the views from the Church of St. George and have free time to relax on your own.

In the afternoon drive to the capital city of Ljubljana and sightseeing. Stroll through the old town, pass the Triple bridge, Dragon bridge, take a peak inside the Cathedral, visit the City hall and its picturesque banks of the river with charming bars and restaurants. Dinner at restaurant Strelec at Ljubljana Castle where chef Igor Jagodic’s creative kitchen was also awarded with Michelin plate 2020.

Overnight in Ljubljana, Hotel Best Western Slon 4* or similar.

Transfer to Ljubljana Airport and take return flight home.
